The passing of the Scotland legend triggers a memory of his encounter with the Vale of Lune.

Ian McLaughlan ( Mighty Mouse R.I.P.)

The Vale were on tour and set to play Jordan Hill in Scotland. Seeing their team it was noted Ian McLaughlan was propping.
Brian Wrigley, Skipper and possibly the best loose head prop the Vale have ever had, was due to play against Mighty Mouse. Wrig 6ft tall, Mighty Mouse 5ft 4 inches. Wrig was ready to screw him. Couldn't be more wrong Mighty Mouse took Wrig apart. Most embarrassing.
John Gill a professed solid prop but main position 2nd Row told Wrig to move into the 2nd row for him to take over. He would sort Mighty Mouse out.

Result -- JG followed Wrig and was screwed out of the game. Ian McLaughlan was indeed a powerful prop one of the strongest and technically the best we'd ever met. Also a damned decent fella !!!!
