PHIL SUTCLIFFE.

PHIL SUTCLIFFE.

Stuart Vernon7 Feb 2020 - 10:32

Phil, a veritable Vale Titan, passed away on Thursday morning, February 6.

The club extends its condolences and sympathies to wife Angie, sons Andrew and Matthew and all Phil's family and friends at this sad time. The funeral will be held at Beetham on Friday February 21 at 11.00 am.
"Sutty," as he was affectionately known ,had a distinguished playing career with the Vale before becoming President and Chairman. Phil worked tirelessly on behalf of the Vale, no project was too small or too big for him to take on. He was enthusiastic, passionate, someone who played hard and partied hard, with a rib tickling sense of humour. Phil embodied the finest traditions of rugby union both as a player and hard working, deeply committed member when he hung up his boots. Such a charismatic character is bound to be missed but his legacy will continue, as will the memories of being in his company.
R. I. P. Phil, you were very special to so many people.
