It's been wull muted this week that this is a key game against an 'in-form' team but I stand here (well sit really) not in anyway worried about the 'form'. Yes they haven't been beaten since the start of December but when the entirety of those games, bar one, were against all the teams in the bottom half of the table, that 'form' begins to paint a different picture. When their return fixture results are almost identical as their first fixtures this highlights a potential 'lack' of progression?
Don't forget this is a team we have beaten twice already this season and they will return to Powderhouse Lane with some wind in their sails but given the quality at training this week I am confident they will hit stormy seas as they try and continue their run of 'form'. What I will say is that it feels like there's a lot riding on this game with it being yet another 1st vs 2nd but we have not stalled in front of that particular challenge yet and last week at Douglas we found another level of defence. Another level of commitment. Another level of want to protect all the things that we have worked so desperately hard to earn.
The squad is buzzing this week and 35 lads returned to the training paddock to ensure we are league and cup strong and our A Team have the chance to add a Cup Final to their accolades and we are well prepared. Well resourced and absolutely ready to go again and fight for each other and our opportunities.
